Sally recently taught Communications 359, Writing for Mass Media, at the University of Washington.

The five-credit course focused on writing for magazines, newspapers, television, public relations, advertising and the Web. Lectures covered descriptive writing, profiles, features, reviews and interviewing and more. Other topics included style, grammar, punctuation, editing and the AP Stylebook. Students wrote in and out of class, and were given weekly quizzes and writing assignments.

The 20-student class met twice a week for 2.5 hours each time. Sally got very high marks on her students' evaluations.
